Ivory Buckram Tailors Linen

Buckram, or Tailor's Linen (known in modern eras as interfacing) is used in the lining of garments to help hold their form and help keep things like collars and buttonholes sturdy. This tightly-woven linen is stiffened with gum, and was a staple foundation layer in early garments, including bodies and stays, to provide adequate stiffening.

  • Our Ivory Buckram Tailors Linen is medium weight and stiff.
  • Suitable for any portion of a garment requiring stiffness and to hold its shape, including bodices, stays, collars of coats, jackets, waistcoats, and regimentals, as well as in millinery.
  • 100% Irish Linen, 63 inches wide.
