BEDGOWN SEW ALONG
Have you been thinking about sewing an 18th century wardrobe (or a history bounding one)? Are you getting into hand sewing? Join us for our Historical Sew Along Series! Welcome to our fifth Sew Along, Bedgowns! In our first four sew alongs, we produced garments to dress your lower half and provide you with underwear for the 18th century. In this sew along we will start working with the upper half! Bedgowns were a loose T shaped garment worn thru out the 18th century and on into the 19th century. Typically you found them being worn as a "work" type garment or at home in "undress". It's construction allowed for free movement and the textiles it was typically made from allowed it to be easily cared for. This garment is easy to make and you will find yourself not only wanting it for your 18th century fashion journey, but in your everyday life! Don't forget to use our hashtag #showyourbedgown and tag us in social media! For more history about bedgowns, watch this LIVE with Angela!
