In our research, we have found a number of examples of "Paduasoy Ribbon" in the 18th-early 19th centuries.  Lightly ribbed, Paduasoy Ribbon was a sturdy ribbon that worked well for decorative purposes, such as caps and trims, but was also sturdy enough to be used as binding, and for shoe ties.  Originally made of silk, it was later made of cotton and rayon.  Our ribbon is appropriate for a variety of time periods.

  • This Paduasoy Ribbon is 100% rayon; a natural fiber that closely resembles silk. It is almost identical in appearance to the originals we have studied.
  • Available in 1/2 inch and 1 inch widths.
